I got my last salary 7 years ago in April 2014.

Yes, that’s when I started up.

Most of the people in India know that –

Swiggy started in 2014 and is now worth $3.9 bn

Postman started in 2014 and is now worth $2 bn

Razorpay started in 2014 and is now worth $1 bn

However, most of them may not know that –

Tinyowl started in 2014, raised $27.8 mn, shut down in 2016.

Taskbob started in 2014, raised $5.7 mn, shut down in 2016.

Doodhwala started in 2014, raised $2.2 mn, shut down in 2019.

You know what –

It took me less than a minute to find details about the billion-dollar startups.

But, took an hour to find details about startups that shut down.

Contrasting with the fact that –

< 1 percent of the startups started in 2014 have become unicorns > 90% of the startups have shut down.

Main reason –

People write success stories because people like reading success stories.

However, you can learn a lot from the mistakes and failures of startups.

Last year I started giving away my learnings via posts and blogs.
